[1114] For whomever in whatever place the bodily formation (kāya-saṅkhāra) has not arisen, will the mental formation (citta-saṅkhāra) not arise for that one in that place?
For those who have attained the fourth jhāna (catutthajjhāna), for beings of the form sphere (rūpāvacara), and for beings of the formless sphere (arūpāvacara): for them in that place the bodily formation has not arisen, but it is not the case that for them in that place the mental formation will not arise. For those possessed of the final mind (pacchimacitta) in the form sphere and in the formless sphere, and for non-percipient beings (asaññasatta): for them in that place the bodily formation has not arisen and the mental formation will not arise.
Or, for whomever in whatever place the mental formation will not arise, has the bodily formation not arisen for that one in that place?
For those possessed of the final mind in the sensual sphere (kāmāvacara): for them in that place the mental formation will not arise, but it is not the case that for them in that place the bodily formation has not arisen. For those possessed of the final mind in the form sphere and in the formless sphere, and for non-percipient beings: for them in that place the mental formation will not arise and the bodily formation has not arisen.
