[1350] Whoever, from wherever, is without the latent tendency of sensual lust (kāmarāgānusaya), the latent tendency of repulsion (paṭighānusaya), and the latent tendency of conceit (mānānusaya) — is he, from there, without the latent tendency of view (diṭṭhānusaya) … without the latent tendency of doubt (vicikicchānusaya)?
Yes.
Or whoever, from wherever, is without the latent tendency of doubt — is he, from there, without the latent tendency of sensual lust, the latent tendency of repulsion, and the latent tendency of conceit?
Two persons: in painful feeling (dukkhā vedanā) — from there they are without the latent tendency of doubt, the latent tendency of sensual lust, and the latent tendency of conceit, but it is not the case that from there they are without the latent tendency of repulsion. Those same persons: in the two feelings in the sense-sphere element (kāmadhātu) — from there they are without the latent tendency of doubt and the latent tendency of repulsion, but it is not the case that from there they are without the latent tendency of sensual lust and the latent tendency of conceit. Those same persons: in the form element (rūpadhātu) and the formless element (arūpadhātu) — from there they are without the latent tendency of doubt, the latent tendency of sensual lust, and the latent tendency of repulsion, but it is not the case that from there they are without the latent tendency of conceit. Those same persons: in the unincluded (apariyāpanna) — from there they are without the latent tendency of doubt, and they are without the latent tendency of sensual lust, the latent tendency of repulsion, and the latent tendency of conceit. The non-returner (anāgāmī): in the two feelings in the sense-sphere element, in the form element, and in the formless element — from there he is without the latent tendency of doubt, the latent tendency of sensual lust, and the latent tendency of repulsion, but it is not the case that from there he is without the latent tendency of conceit. That same person: in painful feeling and in the unincluded — from there he is without the latent tendency of doubt, and he is without the latent tendency of sensual lust, the latent tendency of repulsion, and the latent tendency of conceit. The Arahant (arahā): everywhere — he is without the latent tendency of doubt, and he is without the latent tendency of sensual lust, the latent tendency of repulsion, and the latent tendency of conceit.
Whoever, from wherever, is without the latent tendency of sensual lust, the latent tendency of repulsion, and the latent tendency of conceit — is he, from there, without the latent tendency of lust for existence (bhavarāgānusaya)?
Yes.
Or whoever, from wherever, is without the latent tendency of lust for existence — is he, from there, without the latent tendency of sensual lust, the latent tendency of repulsion, and the latent tendency of conceit?
Three persons: in painful feeling — from there they are without the latent tendency of lust for existence, the latent tendency of sensual lust, and the latent tendency of conceit, but it is not the case that from there they are without the latent tendency of repulsion. Those same persons: in the two feelings in the sense-sphere element — from there they are without the latent tendency of lust for existence and the latent tendency of repulsion, but it is not the case that from there they are without the latent tendency of sensual lust and the latent tendency of conceit. Those same persons: in the unincluded — from there they are without the latent tendency of lust for existence, and they are without the latent tendency of sensual lust, the latent tendency of repulsion, and the latent tendency of conceit. The non-returner: in the two feelings in the sense-sphere element — from there he is without the latent tendency of lust for existence, the latent tendency of sensual lust, and the latent tendency of repulsion, but it is not the case that from there he is without the latent tendency of conceit. That same person: in painful feeling and in the unincluded — from there he is without the latent tendency of lust for existence, and he is without the latent tendency of sensual lust, the latent tendency of repulsion, and the latent tendency of conceit. The Arahant: everywhere — he is without the latent tendency of lust for existence, and he is without the latent tendency of sensual lust, the latent tendency of repulsion, and the latent tendency of conceit.
Whoever, from wherever, is without the latent tendency of sensual lust, the latent tendency of repulsion, and the latent tendency of conceit — is he, from there, without the latent tendency of ignorance (avijjānusaya)?
The non-returner: in painful feeling — from there he is without the latent tendency of sensual lust, the latent tendency of repulsion, and the latent tendency of conceit, but it is not the case that from there he is without the latent tendency of ignorance. That same person: in the unincluded — from there he is without the latent tendency of sensual lust, the latent tendency of repulsion, and the latent tendency of conceit, and he is without the latent tendency of ignorance. The Arahant: everywhere — he is without the latent tendency of sensual lust, the latent tendency of repulsion, and the latent tendency of conceit, and he is without the latent tendency of ignorance.
Or whoever, from wherever, is without the latent tendency of ignorance — is he, from there, without the latent tendency of sensual lust, the latent tendency of repulsion, and the latent tendency of conceit?
Yes.
