[1380] One who abandons the latent tendency of doubt (vicikicchānusaya) from a given place — does that one abandon the latent tendency of lust for existence (bhavarāgānusaya) from that place?
The eighth person (aṭṭhamaka), with regard to the three feelings (vedanā) in the sense-sphere element (kāmadhātu): that one abandons the latent tendency of doubt from there, but that one does not abandon the latent tendency of lust for existence from there. That very same person, with regard to the form element (rūpadhātu) and the formless element (arūpadhātu): that one abandons the latent tendency of doubt from there, and abandons the latent tendency of lust for existence that stands in the same place with it (tadekaṭṭha).
