[1463] "One who does not fully understand the latent tendency of sensual lust (kāmarāgānusaya), the latent tendency of repulsion (paṭighānusaya), the latent tendency of conceit (mānānusaya), the latent tendency of view (diṭṭhānusaya), the latent tendency of doubt (vicikicchānusaya), and the latent tendency of lust for existence (bhavarāgānusaya) — does he not fully understand the latent tendency of ignorance (avijjānusaya)?" "Yes." "Or else, one who does not fully understand the latent tendency of ignorance — does he not fully understand the latent tendency of sensual lust, the latent tendency of repulsion, the latent tendency of conceit, the latent tendency of view, the latent tendency of doubt, and the latent tendency of lust for existence?" "The eighth person (aṭṭhamaka) does not fully understand the latent tendency of ignorance, the latent tendency of sensual lust, the latent tendency of repulsion, the latent tendency of conceit, and the latent tendency of lust for existence, but it is not the case that he does not fully understand the latent tendency of view and the latent tendency of doubt. One possessed of the path of non-returning (anāgāmimaggasamaṅgī) does not fully understand the latent tendency of ignorance, the latent tendency of conceit, the latent tendency of view, the latent tendency of doubt, and the latent tendency of lust for existence, but it is not the case that he does not fully understand the latent tendency of sensual lust and the latent tendency of repulsion. Excepting the two persons possessed of the path (maggasamaṅgī) and the eighth person, the remaining persons do not fully understand the latent tendency of ignorance, and they do not fully understand the latent tendency of sensual lust, the latent tendency of repulsion, the latent tendency of conceit, the latent tendency of view, the latent tendency of doubt, and the latent tendency of lust for existence."
