[1480] Does one who does not fully understand the latent tendency of lust for existence (bhavarāgānusaya) from a given [basis] not fully understand the latent tendency of ignorance (avijjānusaya) from that [basis]?
One endowed with the highest path (aggamaggasamaṅgī), as to the three feelings (vedanā) in the sense-sphere element (kāmadhātu): that one does not fully understand the latent tendency of lust for existence therefrom, but it is not the case that he does not fully understand the latent tendency of ignorance therefrom. That same person, as to the unincluded (apariyāpanna): he does not fully understand the latent tendency of lust for existence therefrom and does not fully understand the latent tendency of ignorance therefrom. Setting aside the one endowed with the highest path, the remaining persons, everywhere, do not fully understand the latent tendency of lust for existence and do not fully understand the latent tendency of ignorance.
Or rather, does one who does not fully understand the latent tendency of ignorance from a given [basis] not fully understand the latent tendency of lust for existence from that [basis]?
