[227] For whom the feeling aggregate (vedanākkhandha) does not arise, for that one does the perception aggregate (saññākkhandha) not cease?
For those passing away from the four-constituent [existence] (catuvokāra) and from the five-constituent [existence] (pañcavokāra), the feeling aggregate does not arise, but it is not the case that the perception aggregate does not cease for them. For non-percipient beings (asaññasattā), the feeling aggregate does not arise and the perception aggregate does not cease.
Or rather, for whom the perception aggregate does not cease, for that one does the feeling aggregate not arise?
For those being reborn into the four-constituent [existence] and the five-constituent [existence], the perception aggregate does not cease, but it is not the case that the feeling aggregate does not arise for them. For non-percipient beings, the perception aggregate does not cease and the feeling aggregate does not arise.
