[231] For whomever and wherever the aggregate of feeling (vedanākkhandha) does not arise, does the aggregate of perception (saññākkhandha) not cease for that one there?
For those passing away from the four-constituent (catuvokāra) and the five-constituent (pañcavokāra) [planes], the aggregate of feeling does not arise for them there, but it is not the case that the aggregate of perception does not cease for them there. For non-percipient beings (asaññasatta), the aggregate of feeling does not arise for them there and the aggregate of perception does not cease.
Or, for whomever and wherever the aggregate of perception does not cease, does the aggregate of feeling not arise for that one there?
For those being reborn into the four-constituent and the five-constituent [planes], the aggregate of perception does not cease for them there, but it is not the case that the aggregate of feeling does not arise for them there. For non-percipient beings, the aggregate of perception does not cease for them there and the aggregate of feeling does not arise.
