[316] Where the mind base (manāyatana) arises, does the phenomena base (dhammāyatana) arise there? Yes. Or, where the phenomena base arises, does the mind base arise there? Among the non-percipient beings (asaññasattā), the phenomena base arises there, but the mind base does not arise there; in the four-constituent (catuvokāra) [existence] and in the five-constituent (pañcavokāra) [existence], both the phenomena base arises there and the mind base arises there.
