[620] For whomever the form base (rūpāyatana) ceases, will the mind base (manāyatana) … will the dhamma base (dhammāyatana) cease for that one?
For those attaining final Nibbāna in the five-constituent existence (pañcavokāra), their form base ceases, but their dhamma base will not cease. For the others — those possessed of form who are passing away — their form base ceases and their dhamma base will cease.
Or rather, for whomever the dhamma base will cease, does the form base cease for that one?
For all who are being reborn, and for those without form who are passing away, their dhamma base will cease, but their form base does not cease. For those possessed of form who are passing away, their dhamma base will cease and their form base ceases.
