[621] For whomever the mind base (manāyatana) ceases, will the dhamma base (dhammāyatana) of that one cease?
For those attaining final Nibbāna (parinibbāna), the mind base ceases, but the dhamma base of those will not cease. For the others — those with mind (sacittaka) who are passing away — both the mind base ceases and the dhamma base will cease.
Or: for whomever the dhamma base will cease, does the mind base of that one cease?
For all those who are arising, and for those without mind (acittaka) who are passing away, the dhamma base will cease, but the mind base of those does not cease. For those with mind who are passing away, both the dhamma base will cease and the mind base ceases.
