[527] "For whomever the nose base (ghānāyatana) ceases, does the mind base (manāyatana) cease for him?"
"Yes."
"Or rather, for whomever the mind base ceases, does the nose base cease for him?"
"For those with mind (sacittaka) but without a nose (aghānaka) who are passing away, the mind base ceases for them, but the nose base does not cease for them; for those with a nose (saghānaka) who are passing away, for them both the mind base ceases and the nose base ceases."
