[584] "For whomever the nose sense base (ghānāyatana) ceases, has the form sense base (rūpāyatana) … the mind sense base (manāyatana), the dhamma sense base (dhammāyatana) ceased for him?" "Yes." "Or rather, for whomever the dhamma sense base has ceased, does the nose sense base cease for him?" "For all those who are being reborn (upapajjantā) and for those without a nose (aghānakā) who are passing away (cavantā), the dhamma sense base has ceased for them, but the nose sense base does not cease for them. For those with a nose (saghānakā) who are passing away, the dhamma sense base has ceased for them and the nose sense base ceases."
