Uppādanirodhavāra

[793] One who fully understood the eye base (cakkhāyatana) — will he fully understand the ear base (sotāyatana)? No. Or rather, one who will fully understand the ear base — did he fully understand the eye base? No. One who did not fully understand the eye base — will he not fully understand the ear base? Those who will obtain the path (magga): they did not fully understand the eye base, but it is not the case that they will not fully understand the ear base. The one possessed of the supreme path (aggamaggasamaṅgī) and those ordinary persons (puthujjanā) who will not obtain the path: they did not fully understand the eye base and will not fully understand the ear base. Or rather, one who will not fully understand the ear base — did he not fully understand the eye base? The Arahant (arahā) will not fully understand the ear base, but it is not the case that he did not fully understand the eye base. The one possessed of the supreme path and those ordinary persons who will not obtain the path: they will not fully understand the ear base and did not fully understand the eye base. The Chapter on Full Understanding (Pariññāvāra) is concluded. The Pairs on the Sense Bases (Āyatanayamaka) is concluded.
