[993] "For whom the truth of origin (samudaya-sacca) will arise, will the truth of the path (magga-sacca) cease for that one?"
For those ordinary persons (puthujjana) who will not obtain the path, the truth of origin will arise, but the truth of the path will not cease for them. For those who will obtain the path, both the truth of origin will arise and the truth of the path will cease.
"Or rather, for whom the truth of the path will cease, will the truth of origin arise for that one?"
At the moment of the arising (uppādakkhaṇa) of the highest path (aggamagga), and [for those] who, in immediate succession to whichever mind (citta), will obtain the highest path: for them the truth of the path will cease, but the truth of origin will not arise for them. For those who will obtain the path, both the truth of the path will cease and the truth of origin will arise.
