[1044] For whomever, wherever, the eye faculty (cakkhundriya) arises, has the wisdom faculty (paññindriya) … the mind faculty (manindriya) arisen for that one there?
For those being reborn in the Pure Abodes (Suddhāvāsa), the eye faculty arises for them there, but the mind faculty has not arisen for them there. For the others possessing eyes who are being reborn, both the eye faculty arises for them there and the mind faculty has arisen.
Or else, for whomever, wherever, the mind faculty has arisen, does the eye faculty arise for that one there?
For those passing away from five-constituent existence (pañcavokāra), for those without eyes being reborn in the sense sphere (kāmāvacara), and for formless beings (arūpa), the mind faculty has arisen for them there, but the eye faculty does not arise for them there. For those possessing eyes who are being reborn, both the mind faculty has arisen for them there and the eye faculty arises.
