[1098] For whomever the masculinity faculty (purisindriya) arises, will the life faculty (jīvitindriya) arise for him?
In the case of final-existence (pacchimabhavika) males who are being reborn: for them the masculinity faculty arises, but the life faculty will not arise for them. In the case of the other males who are being reborn: for them the masculinity faculty arises and the life faculty will arise.
Or, for whomever the life faculty will arise, does the masculinity faculty arise for him?
In the case of all who are passing away, and of non-males who are being reborn: for them the life faculty will arise, but the masculinity faculty does not arise for them. In the case of males who are being reborn: for them the life faculty will arise and the masculinity faculty arises.
