[1099] For whomever the masculinity faculty (purisindriya) arises, will the joy faculty (somanassindriya) arise for that one?
When males in their final existence are being reborn, and when those males are being reborn who, having been reborn with equanimity (upekkhā), will attain final Nibbāna, the masculinity faculty arises for them, but the joy faculty will not arise for them. When the other males are being reborn, both the masculinity faculty arises for them and the joy faculty will arise.
Or rather, for whomever the joy faculty will arise, does the masculinity faculty arise for that one?
When all are passing away, and when those who are not male are being reborn, the joy faculty will arise for them, but the masculinity faculty does not arise for them. When males are being reborn, both the joy faculty will arise for them and the masculinity faculty arises.
