Cakkhundarīya

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (2) · Vol. 39 · Section 1137

[1137] For whomever, wherever, the masculinity faculty (purisindriya) arises, will the equanimity faculty (upekkhindriya) arise for that one there? For males in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) who are being reborn, and for those males who, having been reborn with joy (somanassa), will attain final Nibbāna — as these are being reborn — for them there the masculinity faculty arises, but for them there the equanimity faculty will not arise. For the other males who are being reborn, for them there both the masculinity faculty arises and the equanimity faculty will arise. Or else: for whomever, wherever, the equanimity faculty will arise, does the masculinity faculty arise for that one there? For those passing away from the sense sphere (kāmāvacara), for non-males being reborn into the sense sphere, and for beings of the form sphere (rūpāvacara) and of the formless sphere (arūpāvacara), for them there the equanimity faculty will arise, but for them there the masculinity faculty does not arise. For males who are being reborn, for them there both the equanimity faculty will arise and the masculinity faculty arises.
