[1188] For whomever, wherever, the eye faculty (cakkhundriya) does not arise, will the masculinity faculty (purisindriya) not arise for that one there?
For those passing away from the sense sphere (kāmāvacara) and for those without eyes (acakkhuka) who are being reborn into the sense sphere: for them, there, the eye faculty does not arise, but it is not the case that, for them, there, the masculinity faculty will not arise. For those attaining final Nibbāna in the sense sphere, for those passing away from the form sphere (rūpāvacara), for non-percipient beings (asaññasatta), for formless beings (arūpa), and for those women who, in that very state (bhāva), having passed through some number of existences (bhava), will attain final Nibbāna — for these as they pass away: for them, there, the eye faculty does not arise and the masculinity faculty will not arise.
Or rather, for whomever, wherever, the masculinity faculty will not arise, does the eye faculty not arise for that one there?
For those in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) who are being reborn into the sense sphere, for those being reborn into the form sphere, and for those women who, in that very state, having passed through some number of existences, will attain final Nibbāna — for these as they are being reborn: for them, there, the masculinity faculty will not arise, but it is not the case that, for them, there, the eye faculty does not arise. For those attaining final Nibbāna in the sense sphere, for those passing away from the form sphere, for non-percipient beings, for formless beings, and for those women who, in that very state, having passed through some number of existences, will attain final Nibbāna — for these as they pass away: for them, there, the masculinity faculty will not arise and the eye faculty does not arise.
