[1192] For whomever, wherever, the eye faculty (cakkhundriya) does not arise, will the faith faculty (saddhindriya) not arise for that one there?
For those passing away from the five-constituent existence (pañcavokāra), for eyeless beings being reborn in the sense sphere (kāmāvacara), and for formless (arūpa) beings, the eye faculty does not arise for them there, but it is not the case that the faith faculty will not arise for them there. For those attaining final Nibbāna (parinibbāna) in the five-constituent existence, for those in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) in the formless plane, and for non-percipient beings (asaññasatta), the eye faculty does not arise for them there and the faith faculty will not arise.
Or rather, for whomever, wherever, the faith faculty will not arise, does the eye faculty not arise for that one there?
For those in their final existence being reborn in the five-constituent existence, the faith faculty will not arise for them there, but it is not the case that the eye faculty does not arise for them there. For those attaining final Nibbāna in the five-constituent existence, for those in their final existence in the formless plane, and for non-percipient beings, the faith faculty will not arise for them there and the eye faculty does not arise.
