Cakkhundarīya

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (2) · Vol. 39 · Section 1157

[1157] For whomever the eye faculty (cakkhundriya) does not arise, will the wisdom faculty (paññindriya) … the mind faculty (manindriya) not arise for that one? For all who are passing away and for those without eyes who are being reborn — for them the eye faculty does not arise, but it is not the case that the mind faculty will not arise for them. For those attaining final Nibbāna in the five-constituent existence (pañcavokāra) and for those in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) in the immaterial realm (arūpa) — for them the eye faculty does not arise and the mind faculty will not arise. Or, for whomever the mind faculty will not arise, does the eye faculty not arise for that one? For those in their final existence who are being reborn into the five-constituent existence — for them the mind faculty will not arise, but it is not the case that the eye faculty does not arise for them. For those attaining final Nibbāna in the five-constituent existence and for those in their final existence in the immaterial realm — for them the mind faculty will not arise and the eye faculty does not arise.
