Cakkhundarīya

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (2) · Vol. 39 · Section 1324

[1324] For whomever, wherever, the masculinity faculty (purisindriya) has never arisen, will the equanimity faculty (upekkhindriya) not arise for that one there? For beings of the form sphere (rūpāvacara) and beings of the formless sphere (arūpāvacara): for them the masculinity faculty has never arisen there, yet it is not the case that the equanimity faculty will not arise for them there. For those in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) in the form sphere or in the formless sphere, and for non-percipient beings (asaññasatta): for them, there, both the masculinity faculty has never arisen and the equanimity faculty will not arise. Or rather, for whomever, wherever, the equanimity faculty will not arise, has the masculinity faculty never arisen for that one there? For those in their final existence in the sense sphere (kāmāvacara), and for those men who, having been reborn with joy (somanassa), will attain final Nibbāna: for them the equanimity faculty will not arise there, yet it is not the case that the masculinity faculty has never arisen for them there. For those in their final existence in the form sphere or in the formless sphere, and for non-percipient beings: for them, there, both the equanimity faculty will not arise and the masculinity faculty has never arisen.
