[1323] For whomever, wherever, the masculinity faculty (purisindriya) has not arisen, will the joy faculty (somanassindriya) not arise for that one there?
For beings of the form sphere (rūpāvacara), the masculinity faculty has not arisen for them there, yet it is not the case that the joy faculty will not arise for them there. For those in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) in the form sphere, for non-percipient beings (asaññasattā), and for formless beings (arūpā), both the masculinity faculty has not arisen for them there and the joy faculty will not arise.
Or else, for whomever, wherever, the joy faculty will not arise, has the masculinity faculty not arisen for that one there?
For those in their final existence in the sense sphere (kāmāvacara), and for those men who, having been reborn with equanimity, will attain final Nibbāna, the joy faculty will not arise for them there, yet it is not the case that the masculinity faculty has not arisen for them there. For those in their final existence in the form sphere, for non-percipient beings, and for formless beings, both the joy faculty will not arise for them there and the masculinity faculty has not arisen.
