[493] "For whomever the eye faculty (cakkhundriya) arises, does the joy faculty (somanassindriya) arise for that one?"
For those possessing eyes who are being reborn without joy (somanassa), the eye faculty arises for them, but the joy faculty does not arise for them. For those possessing eyes who are being reborn with joy, for them the eye faculty arises and the joy faculty arises.
"Or, for whomever the joy faculty arises, does the eye faculty arise for that one?"
