[551] Where the life faculty (jīvitindriya) arises, does the joy faculty (somanassindriya) arise there? Among the non-percipient beings (asaññasatta), the life faculty arises there, but the joy faculty does not arise there. In the four-constituent [plane] (catuvokāra) and the five-constituent [plane] (pañcavokāra), there both the life faculty arises and the joy faculty arises.
Or rather, where the joy faculty arises, does the life faculty arise there? Yes.
