Nidadesahaṅadhaṁvāra

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (2) · Vol. 39 · Section 60

[60] "Whatever mind (citta) ceases, has that mind arisen?" "Yes." "Or else, whatever mind has arisen, does that mind cease?" "At the moment of arising (uppādakkhaṇa) a mind has arisen, but that mind does not cease; at the moment of dissolution (bhaṅgakkhaṇa) a mind both has arisen and ceases." "Whatever mind does not cease, has that mind not arisen?" "At the moment of arising a mind does not cease, but it is not the case that that mind has not arisen; past and future mind neither ceases nor has arisen." "Or else, whatever mind has not arisen, does that mind not cease?" "Yes."
