[74] Whatever mind (citta) of whatever person ceases — has that mind of that person arisen?
Yes.
Or rather, whatever mind of whatever person has arisen — does that mind of that person cease?
At the moment of arising (uppādakkhaṇa) the mind has arisen, but it is not the case that that mind of that person ceases; at the moment of dissolution (bhaṅgakkhaṇa) the mind has both arisen and ceases.
Whatever mind of whatever person does not cease — has that mind of that person not arisen?
At the moment of arising the mind does not cease, but it is not the case that that mind of that person has not arisen; past and future mind neither ceases nor has arisen.
Or rather, whatever mind of whatever person has not arisen — does that mind of that person not cease?
Yes.
