[659] Where the nose faculty (ghānindriya) does not arise, does the joy faculty (somanassindriya) not arise there?
In the form sphere (rūpāvacara), there the nose faculty does not arise, but it is not the case that the joy faculty does not arise there. Among the non-percipient beings (asaññasatta) and in the formless (arūpa), there both the nose faculty does not arise and the joy faculty does not arise.
Or rather, where the joy faculty does not arise, does the nose faculty not arise there?
