[700] For whomever, wherever, the masculinity faculty (purisindriya) does not arise, does the joy faculty (somanassindriya) not arise for that one there? For those who are not males being reborn with joy — for them there the masculinity faculty does not arise, but it is not the case that for them there the joy faculty does not arise. For all who are passing away, and for those who are not males being reborn without joy — for them there both the masculinity faculty does not arise and the joy faculty does not arise. Or, on the other hand, for whomever, wherever, the joy faculty does not arise, does the masculinity faculty not arise for that one there? For males being reborn without joy — for them there the joy faculty does not arise, but it is not the case that for them there the masculinity faculty does not arise. For all who are passing away, and for those who are not males being reborn without joy — for them there both the joy faculty does not arise and the masculinity faculty does not arise.
