[76] Whatever mind (citta) of whatever person ceases, has that mind of that person ceased?
— No.
Or: whatever mind of whatever person has ceased, does that mind of that person cease?
— No.
Whatever mind of whatever person does not cease, has that mind of that person not ceased?
— A past mind does not cease, but it is not the case that that mind of that person has not ceased; a mind at the moment of arising (uppādakkhaṇa) and a future mind neither cease nor have ceased.
Or: whatever mind of whatever person has not ceased, does that mind of that person not cease?
— A mind at the moment of dissolution (bhaṅgakkhaṇa) has not ceased, but it is not the case that that mind of that person does not cease; a mind at the moment of arising and a future mind neither have ceased nor cease.
Whatever mind of whatever person ceases, will that mind of that person cease?
— No.
Or: whatever mind of whatever person will cease, does that mind of that person cease?
— No.
Whatever mind of whatever person does not cease, will that mind of that person not cease?
— A mind at the moment of arising and a future mind do not cease, but it is not the case that that mind of that person will not cease; a past mind neither ceases nor will cease.
