[822] For whomever, wherever, the nose faculty (ghānindriya) has never arisen, has the life faculty (jīvitindriya) never arisen for that one there?
As for beings of the form sphere (rūpāvacara) and beings of the formless sphere (arūpāvacara): for them there, the nose faculty has never arisen, but it is not the case that the life faculty has never arisen for them there. As for beings of the Pure Abodes (Suddhāvāsa): for them there, both the nose faculty has never arisen and the life faculty has never arisen.
Or again, for whomever, wherever, the life faculty has never arisen, has the nose faculty never arisen for that one there?
