Cakkhundarīya

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (2) · Vol. 39 · Section 943

[943] For whomever the femininity faculty (itthindriya) will not arise, will the equanimity faculty (upekkhindriya) not arise for that one? Those who, having been reborn in the form sphere (rūpāvacara) or the formless sphere (arūpāvacara), will attain final Nibbāna (parinibbāna), and those males who, having passed through some number of existences in that same state and having been reborn with equanimity, will attain final Nibbāna — for them the femininity faculty will not arise, but it is not the case that for them the equanimity faculty will not arise. For those in their final existence (pacchimabhavika), and those males who, having passed through some number of existences in that same state and having been reborn with joy (somanassa), will attain final Nibbāna — for them the femininity faculty will not arise, and the equanimity faculty will not arise. Or else: for whomever the equanimity faculty will not arise, will the femininity faculty not arise for that one? Those females who, having passed through some number of existences in that same state and having been reborn with joy, will attain final Nibbāna — for them the equanimity faculty will not arise, but it is not the case that for them the femininity faculty will not arise. For those in their final existence, and those males who, having passed through some number of existences in that same state and having been reborn with joy, will attain final Nibbāna — for them the equanimity faculty will not arise, and the femininity faculty will not arise.
