Cakkhundarīya

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (2) · Vol. 39 · Section 997

[997] For whomever, wherever, the femininity faculty (itthindriya) will not arise, will the equanimity faculty (upekkhindriya) not arise for that one there? For beings of the form sphere (rūpāvacara), for beings of the formless sphere (arūpāvacara), and for those males who, in that same state, will pass through some number of existences and, having been reborn with equanimity (upekkhā), will attain final Nibbāna (parinibbāna) — for them, there, the femininity faculty will not arise; but it is not the case that, for them, there, the equanimity faculty will not arise. For beings in their final existence (pacchimabhavika), for non-percipient beings (asaññasatta), and for those males who, in that same state, will pass through some number of existences and, having been reborn with joy (somanassa), will attain final Nibbāna — for them, there, the femininity faculty will not arise, and the equanimity faculty also will not arise. Or rather, for whomever, wherever, the equanimity faculty will not arise, will the femininity faculty not arise for that one there? For those females who, in that same state, will pass through some number of existences and, having been reborn with joy, will attain final Nibbāna — for them, there, the equanimity faculty will not arise; but it is not the case that, for them, there, the femininity faculty will not arise. For beings in their final existence, for non-percipient beings, and for those males who, in that same state, will pass through some number of existences and, having been reborn with joy, will attain final Nibbāna — for them, there, the equanimity faculty will not arise, and the femininity faculty also will not arise.
