Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (2) · Vol. 39 · Section 946

[946] For whom the masculinity faculty (purisindriya) will not arise, will the joy faculty (somanassindriya) not arise for that one? Those who, having been reborn in the form sphere (rūpāvacara), will attain final Nibbāna (parinibbāna), and those women who, having manifested some number of existences in that very state (bhāva) and having been reborn with joy (somanassa), will attain final Nibbāna — for them the masculinity faculty will not arise, but it is not the case that the joy faculty will not arise for them. For those in their final existence (pacchimabhavika), those who, having been reborn in the formless sphere (arūpa), will attain final Nibbāna, and those women who, having manifested some number of existences in that very state and having been reborn with equanimity (upekkhā), will attain final Nibbāna — for them both the masculinity faculty will not arise and the joy faculty will not arise. Or, for whom the joy faculty will not arise, will the masculinity faculty not arise for that one? Those men who, having manifested some number of existences in that very state and having been reborn with equanimity, will attain final Nibbāna — for them the joy faculty will not arise, but it is not the case that the masculinity faculty will not arise for them. For those in their final existence, those who, having been reborn in the formless sphere, will attain final Nibbāna, and those women who, having manifested some number of existences in that very state and having been reborn with equanimity, will attain final Nibbāna — for them both the joy faculty will not arise and the masculinity faculty will not arise.
