[1467] Dependent on a phenomenon (dhamma) that is clung to and subject to clinging (upādinnupādāniya), a phenomenon that is clung to and subject to clinging arises, not by kamma-result condition (na-vipāka-paccaya): in the case of the non-percipient beings (asaññasattā), [it arises] dependent on one primary element (mahābhūta). Dependent on a phenomenon that is clung to and subject to clinging, a phenomenon that is not clung to but subject to clinging (anupādinnupādāniya) arises, not by kamma-result condition: dependent on the base (vatthu), aggregates (khandhā) that are not clung to but subject to clinging [arise]. Dependent on a phenomenon that is clung to and subject to clinging, a phenomenon that is not clung to and not subject to clinging (anupādinna-anupādāniya) arises, not by kamma-result condition: dependent on the base, wholesome aggregates that are not clung to and not subject to clinging [arise]. Dependent on a phenomenon that is not clung to but subject to clinging … one question (pañhā). Dependent on a phenomenon that is not clung to and not subject to clinging: three [questions]. Dependent on a phenomenon that is clung to and subject to clinging and a phenomenon that is not clung to and not subject to clinging, a phenomenon that is not clung to and not subject to clinging arises, not by kamma-result condition.
