[1680] A phenomenon (dhamma) that is undefiled and not subject to defilement (asaṅkiliṭṭha-asaṅkilesika) is a condition, by way of object condition (ārammaṇa-paccaya), for a phenomenon that is undefiled but subject to defilement (asaṅkiliṭṭha-saṅkilesika).
Noble ones (ariyā), having emerged from the path (magga), review the path, review the fruition (phala), review Nibbāna. Nibbāna is a condition, by way of object condition, for change-of-lineage (gotrabhū), for cleansing (vodāna), and for adverting (āvajjana).
Noble ones know, by the knowledge of penetrating the minds of others (cetopariya-ñāṇa), the mind (citta) of one endowed with a mind that is undefiled and not subject to defilement.
Aggregates (khandhā) that are undefiled and not subject to defilement are a condition, by way of object condition, for the knowledge of penetrating the minds of others, for the knowledge (ñāṇa) of the recollection of past lives (pubbenivāsānussati-ñāṇa), for the knowledge of the future (anāgataṃsa-ñāṇa), and for adverting.
