[558] An indeterminate phenomenon (abyākata dhamma) is a condition for an unwholesome phenomenon (akusala dhamma) by prenascence condition (purejāta-paccaya): object-prenascence (ārammaṇa-purejāta) and base-prenascence (vatthu-purejāta).
Object-prenascence: One relishes and delights in the eye; with that as object, lust (rāga) arises, wrong view (diṭṭhi) arises, doubt (vicikicchā) arises, restlessness (uddhacca) arises, grief (domanassa) arises. The ear … the nose, the tongue, the body, forms, sounds, odours, tastes, tangible objects … one relishes and delights in the base (vatthu); with that as object, lust arises, wrong view arises, doubt arises, restlessness arises, grief arises.
Base-prenascence: The base is a condition for the unwholesome aggregates (khandhā) by prenascence condition.
