[1006] A phenomenon whose root is to be abandoned by seeing (dassanena-pahātabba-hetuka) and a phenomenon whose root is to be abandoned neither by seeing nor by mental development (neva-dassanena-na-bhāvanāya-pahātabba-hetuka) are phenomena (dhammā) [that are a condition] for a phenomenon whose root is to be abandoned neither by seeing nor by mental development …: conascence (sahajāta), prenascence (purejāta), postnascence (pacchājāta), nutriment (āhāra), faculty (indriya).
Here too, [the relation] by object condition (ārammaṇa-paccaya) and by decisive-support condition (upanissaya-paccaya) does exist, but it is not [given] in the text (Pāli); one who counts should count only after having carefully ascertained [the matter].
