[1066] … Not by faculty condition (na indriyapaccayā): external [matter] … nutriment-originated [matter] … temperature-originated [matter] … For non-percipient beings (asaññasatta), conditioned by the great primary elements (mahābhūta), [there arises] the material life faculty (rūpa-jīvitindriya).
