Ācayagāmittika

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Paṭṭhāna (2) · Vol. 41 · Section 1089

[1089] A phenomenon (dhamma) leading to accumulation (ācayagāmi) is a condition for a phenomenon leading to accumulation by object condition (ārammaṇa-paccaya). Having given a gift (dāna), having undertaken virtue (sīla), having performed the uposatha observance, one reviews it. One reviews what was formerly well practised. Having emerged from jhāna, one reviews the jhāna. Trainees (sekkha) review the defilements (kilesa) that have been abandoned; they review the defilements that have been suppressed; they know the defilements that formerly occurred habitually. Trainees or worldlings (puthujjana) contemplate with insight the aggregates (khandha) leading to accumulation as impermanent, as suffering (dukkha), as non-self; they relish them, they delight in them. With that as object, lust (rāga) arises, view (diṭṭhi) … doubt (vicikicchā) … restlessness (uddhacca) … grief (domanassa) arises. By the knowledge penetrating the minds of others (cetopariyañāṇa), they know the mind (citta) of one endowed with a mind leading to accumulation. The wholesome of the sphere of the infinity of space (ākāsānañcāyatana) is a condition for the wholesome of the sphere of the infinity of consciousness (viññāṇañcāyatana) by object condition; the wholesome of the sphere of nothingness (ākiñcaññāyatana) is a condition for the wholesome of the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception (nevasaññānāsaññāyatana). Aggregates leading to accumulation are a condition for the knowledge of the kinds of supernormal power (iddhividha-ñāṇa), for the knowledge penetrating the minds of others, for the knowledge of the recollection of past lives (pubbenivāsānussati-ñāṇa), for the knowledge of beings' faring according to their kamma (yathākammūpaga-ñāṇa), for the knowledge of the future (anāgataṃsa-ñāṇa), by object condition.
