[1599] A phenomenon with an exalted object (mahaggatārammaṇa dhamma) is a condition for a phenomenon with an immeasurable object (appamāṇārammaṇa dhamma) by decisive-support condition (upanissaya-paccaya): proximity decisive-support (anantarūpanissaya) and natural decisive-support (pakatūpanissaya).
Natural decisive-support: In dependence on faith (saddhā) with an exalted object, one produces jhāna with an immeasurable object … the path (magga) … superknowledge (abhiññā) … an attainment (samāpatti). In dependence on virtue (sīla) with an exalted object … aspiration (patthanā), one produces jhāna with an immeasurable object … an attainment. Faith with an exalted object … aspiration is a condition for faith with an immeasurable object, for wisdom (paññā), by decisive-support condition.
