[1600] A phenomenon with a measureless object (appamāṇārammaṇa) is a condition for a phenomenon with a measureless object by decisive-support condition (upanissaya-paccaya): object decisive-support (ārammaṇūpanissaya), proximity decisive-support (anantarūpanissaya), natural decisive-support (pakatūpanissaya). Natural decisive-support: In dependence on faith (saddhā) with a measureless object, one gives rise to jhāna with a measureless object … path (magga) … superknowledge (abhiññā) … attainment (samāpatti). In dependence on virtue (sīla) with a measureless object … wisdom (paññā), one gives rise to jhāna with a measureless object … path … attainment. Faith with a measureless object … wisdom is a condition for faith with a measureless object, for wisdom, for the attainment of fruition (phala-samāpatti), by decisive-support condition.
