[1483] An immeasurable phenomenon (appamāṇo dhammo) is a condition for an exalted (mahaggata) phenomenon by decisive-support condition (upanissaya-paccaya): proximity decisive-support (anantarūpanissaya), natural decisive-support (pakatūpanissaya).
Natural decisive-support: In dependence on immeasurable faith (saddhā), one gives rise to exalted jhāna … superknowledge (abhiññā) … an attainment (samāpatti). In dependence on immeasurable virtue (sīla) … wisdom (paññā), one gives rise to exalted jhāna … superknowledge … an attainment. Immeasurable faith … wisdom is a condition for exalted faith, for wisdom, by decisive-support condition. The noble ones (ariyā), in dependence on the path, give rise to an attainment that has not arisen; they enter upon one that has arisen.
