[1602] A phenomenon (dhamma) with an immeasurable object (appamāṇārammaṇa) is a condition for a phenomenon with an exalted object (mahaggatārammaṇa) by way of decisive-support condition (upanissaya-paccaya): object decisive-support (ārammaṇūpanissaya), proximity decisive-support (anantarūpanissaya), natural decisive-support (pakatūpanissaya).
Natural decisive-support: In dependence on faith (saddhā) with an immeasurable object, one produces jhāna with an exalted object … insight (vipassanā) … superknowledge (abhiññā) … attainment (samāpatti). In dependence on virtue (sīla) with an immeasurable object … wisdom (paññā), one produces jhāna with an exalted object … insight … superknowledge … attainment. Faith with an immeasurable object … wisdom is a condition for faith with an exalted object, for wisdom, by way of decisive-support condition.
