[1921] A past phenomenon (dhamma) is a condition for a present phenomenon by predominance condition (adhipati-paccaya).
Object-predominance (ārammaṇādhipati): Having given a gift (dāna), virtue (sīla) … one esteems and reviews the deeds formerly well practised. Having emerged from jhāna, one esteems and reviews the jhāna. Noble ones, having emerged from the path (magga), esteem and review the path; they esteem and review the fruition (phala). One esteems the past eye … the body, forms, sounds, odours, tastes, tangible objects, the base (vatthu) … past aggregates (khandhā), and relishes and delights in them; having esteemed that, lust (rāga) arises, view (diṭṭhi) arises.
