[1987] A phenomenon (dhamma) with a present object is a condition for a phenomenon with a past object by way of predominance condition (adhipati-paccaya).
Object-predominance (ārammaṇādhipati): Having given importance to the past divine eye (dibbacakkhu), one reviews it; having given importance to the divine ear element (dibbasotadhātu), one reviews it; having given importance to past knowledge of supernormal powers (iddhividhañāṇa) that has a present object … having given importance to the knowledge penetrating the minds of others (cetopariyañāṇa) … having given importance to past aggregates (khandhā) that have a present object, one relishes and delights in them; having given importance to that, lust (rāga) with a past object arises, view (diṭṭhi) arises.
