[1578] A phenomenon (dhamma) with a limited object (parittārammaṇa) is a condition, by predominance condition (adhipati-paccaya), for a phenomenon with an exalted object (mahaggatārammaṇa).
Object-predominance (ārammaṇādhipati): Having given weight to the divine eye (dibbacakkhu), one reviews it; the divine ear element (dibbā sotadhātu) … the knowledge of supernormal power (iddhividha-ñāṇa) that has a limited object, the knowledge penetrating the minds of others (cetopariya-ñāṇa), the knowledge (ñāṇa) of the recollection of past lives (pubbenivāsānussati-ñāṇa), the knowledge of how beings fare according to their kamma (yathākammūpaga-ñāṇa) … one reviews the knowledge of the future (anāgataṃsa-ñāṇa).
Having given weight to the exalted (mahaggata) aggregates (khandhā) that have a limited object, one relishes them; having given weight to that, lust (rāga) with an exalted object … view (diṭṭhi) arises.
