[1928] A future (anāgata) phenomenon (dhamma) is a condition for a present (paccuppanna) phenomenon by decisive-support condition (upanissaya-paccaya): object decisive-support (ārammaṇūpanissaya), proximity decisive-support (anantarūpanissaya), natural decisive-support (pakatūpanissaya).
Natural decisive-support: One, aspiring to future accomplishment of the eye (cakkhu-sampadā), to accomplishment of the ear … to accomplishment of the nose, accomplishment of the tongue, accomplishment of the body, accomplishment of appearance (vaṇṇa-sampadā), accomplishment of sound, accomplishment of smell, accomplishment of taste … aspiring to accomplishment of touch (phoṭṭhabba-sampadā), aspiring to future aggregates (khandhā), gives a gift (dāna), virtue (sīla) … the uposatha observance (uposatha-kamma) …
Future accomplishment of the eye … accomplishment of appearance … accomplishment of touch … future aggregates are a condition for present faith (saddhā), for wisdom (paññā), for bodily pleasure (kāyika sukha), for bodily pain (kāyika dukkha), for the path (magga), and for the attainment of fruition (phala-samāpatti), by decisive-support condition.
