[1929] A present phenomenon (paccuppanno dhammo) is a condition for a present phenomenon by decisive-support condition (upanissaya-paccaya): object decisive-support (ārammaṇūpanissaya), proximity decisive-support (anantarūpanissaya), natural decisive-support (pakatūpanissaya). Natural decisive-support: in dependence on present climate (utu), one produces jhāna, insight (vipassanā) … In dependence on present food (bhojana) … lodging (senāsana), one produces jhāna, produces an attainment (samāpatti). Present climate … food … lodging is a condition for present faith (saddhā), for wisdom (paññā), for bodily … for the attainment of fruition (phala-samāpatti), by decisive-support condition.
