[2044] Dependent on an external phenomenon (bahiddhā dhamma), an external phenomenon arises, not by root condition (na-hetupaccayā): dependent on one rootless (ahetuka) external aggregate (khandha), three aggregates and mind-originated form (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa) [arise]; dependent on two aggregates … At the moment of rootless rebirth-linking (ahetuka-paṭisandhi), dependent on the aggregates, the base (vatthu) [arises]; dependent on the base, the aggregates [arise]. Dependent on one primary element (mahābhūta); external [matter] (bāhira) … nutriment-originated [matter] (āhārasamuṭṭhāna) … temperature-originated [matter] (utusamuṭṭhāna) … For the non-percipient beings (asaññasattā), dependent on one primary element; dependent on the aggregates accompanied by doubt (vicikicchā), accompanied by restlessness (uddhacca), there arises delusion (moha) accompanied by doubt, accompanied by restlessness.
